Me on my trusty Diva Glide, Brother Will on his bad ass Harley Wide Glide, Roy and Dave on their brand new BMW enduro/touring R1200 GS bikes. .

We travelled east of Phoenix, Az. on Hwy 60 to Apache Junction, south on Hwy 79 through Florence. We went around the city limits of Tucson, Az. hooking up with I10 east to Hwy 80 south to Bisbee, Az.

My friend, Jay Allen, owner of the Broken Spoke Saloons---who lives in Bisbee, had drinks waiting for us at Santiago's ---the local Mexican joint. We met our fabulous hosts, Tamara and Mike Page, who own our hotel, San Ramon, Santiago's, Bisbee Grill, and Bisbee Coffee Company. It was election night---a crazy atmosphere with lots of festivity....and shots---results of the election much to Will's disappointment---but he still rallied. Hotel San Ramon is right above Santiago--darling rooms with thoughtful amenities--right down to the home baked cookies on the bedside tables! It is within walking distance of everything.

We hit the road after breakfast at the Copper Queen Hotel, right next door---the place and the people were quite colorful!! We toured Jay Allen's home and garage--it was a boarding house for all the miners in it's day--some of the ghosts still live there! We then explored the town of Tombstone--had Buffalo burgers for lunch and toured the Bird Cage Theater and hang outs of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday--loose women, cards, guns, and whiskey---perfect for us. Heading east--we rode to the top of Chiricahua National Monument--check out the great self photo--shot right before Will's camera blew off the rock perch and down into the ravine! Breathtaking 360 degree views and chilly winds--race to the bottom! On the way home in the dark--I was in the lead--missed a turn and we rode dirt for a while to the main Hwy 80--Roy and Dave put their BMW's to the test to see how fast they could go --Will and I ate their dust! Low key, but great dinner at Bisbee Grill---miles and wind wore us out--but it's all good and wonderful...no shots tonight!

Breakfast was at the world famous Bisbee Breakfast Club---in one of the remodeled historical buildings right up the street from Jay's place--fab menu from chorizo and eggs to granola pancakes--the boys finally filled up their bellies for the morning! Off to Agua Prieta, Mexico just south of Douglas---we followed some deported illegals across the border, and felt lucky to be us---guess this is one of the biggest crossings in the area. We were off to shop ...not much here....but the farmacia was a must stop for the Diva to buy Retin A! We had lunch at Jay's suggested place called La Reforma (muy picante!)--made some friends there who drove us back close to the border. The great thing about my three dudes is that they love to take it all in with lots of photos---we shot a great one at the abandoned train station there on the Mexican side of the border. Check all the photos out in my gallery on the web site! Back to Bisbee and while the guys took the copper mine tour--I walked the streets to shop. I was well rewarded with shops full of antiques, resale treasures, turquoise jewelry, vintage cowboy boots, and lots of galleries. My favorite was 55MAIN--met the owner, Cristina Plascencia, and loved the assortment of art there--I think she needs some Team Diva hats! Cafe Roka was our place for dinner--(be sure to make reservations!) Entering the place the smells are incredible--housed on Main street in one of the old building with the tall metal stamped ceiling--food was incredible--and met a darling couple trying to have a romantic dinner (he was shipping off to Iraq soon)--romantic???.....not if we can have anything to do with it!!! WE then dragged them to the Stock Exchange (the historical bar in town) with lots of live entertainment--and a band too!!

After 3 jam packed nights and days in the area--we said good bye to all our new friends--and hit the road for the Kartchner Caverns. This place was discovered in the '70's and it is not to be believed. We watched the movie and took the tour--(make reservations for the tour!) and it was incredible--a MUST SEE. A force of nature at it's best! Mounted up and toured the Saguaro National Park--lots of cactus--then off to ride to the top of Mt.Lemon slightly north of Tucson. It is hard to believe we started with cactus and ended up at the top with evergreen trees and a ski area! The guys had a coasting race to the bottom--hilarious to watch as I followed them.

After a chilly ride back through Florence--we made it home in the dark--the days are just not long enough for us to get it all in! We figured we rode close to 800 miles--saw everything we could--the BMW boys even saw more travelling on the dirt. I am a lucky Diva to have such a great posse to ride with and explore. Those who were curious---- we let them know that I was their parole officer--trying to keep them in line--one woman said I wasn't doing a very good job...o well.... Diva has a lot on her plate!! In reality--they took great care of me--I really did feel like the Diva!

Check out my other photos on Team Diva web site, http://teamdiva.com/

Also--check out my calendar---I will be in Las Vegas for Rodeo Finals--set up at Sand's Expo Dec. 4-13, and will have a personal appearance at Hacienda Harley of Scottsdale on Dec. 13---if you are in the area--come see me!

I hope you all have a nice Turkey Day--get out and enjoy!

Viva la Diva (aka P.O.)

Links:

http://www.hotelsanramon.com/

http://www.bisbeebreakfastclub.com/

http://www.caferoka.com/

http://www.55maingallery.com/

http://www.bisbeearizona.com/

http://www.tripadvisor.com/

http://www.stockexchangesaloon.com/

http://www.azstateparks.com/

http://www.katchnercaverns.com/

http://www.tombstone.org/

http://www.brokenspokesaloon.com/

Photos:
Riding upper Main in Bisbee

Hotel San Ramon

Saguaro National Park

Chiricaua National Monument

Diva and Jay Allen

Diva Rides to Southern California for LOVE RIDE

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264636355462790290" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Last Friday, Wolfgang and I hopped on our bikes and rode from Carefree, Arizona to Newport Beach, Ca. His wife, Kiki drove a car with us through all the back roads we could find. Riding with the Wolf aka. The Chopper King is a good experience as he knows all the back roads to anywhere! We started out on the Carefree Hwy to Hwy 60 all the way to Interstate 10 west. Perfect weather and lunch at Nancy's Cafe in Quartzite....when is the last time you had a canned, cinnamon marinated apple slice served with your food??? Hitting southern California on a Friday afternoon could have it's problems--but on a motorcycle--the carpool lane was the way to roll... I was in Newport Beach at sunset. Wolf and Kiki travelled on to Santa Monica and I stayed with Aunt Susie in NB. Riding down Jamboree I could smell and feel the ocean air---felt great after a long, hot ride though the desert!

Saturday morning I met Yaya Diva Susie and her daughter Megan at Starbucks to catch up and off to see Stefan, Stascha and family at their store, Stefan Kaelin's on Pacific Coast Hwy in Newport Beach. We were busy designing scarves and beanies I will make for them this winter--they also have a store in Aspen!! Lunch was with Aunt Susie at Rusty Pelican on Coast Hwy---we dined with a full view of the harbor and yachts and such fabulous food--I recommend the tuna Pokey!!!That afternoon I rode the bike south on PCH through Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach to the Ritz Carleton in Dana Point--my old stomping grounds. The ride was fabulous--and on my way back north to Newport--dear old friend Fitzy passed me --I yelled to him wanting to know how he recognized me---how could you not on the Diva Glide???

Bright and early in the fog, thick as pea soup, I took off Sunday morning for Glendale to ride in the LOVE RIDE--it didn't clear up till I got to the exit for Glendale---another weather condition I will add to my riding experiences! I was a vendor at the Pomona Fairgrounds last year for this event--so I didn't get to participate in the parade ride. I heard there were at least 30,000 bikes riding in the event this year.Wolfgang got me into the VIP area and as you can see--I saw lots of friends and had photo ops with Nancy and Willie G. Davidson (we had met at Daytona Bike Week this past spring) and Peter Fonda--one of the original Easy Riders! Jay Leno was the grand marshall and MC, and Lorenzo Lamas sang the national anthem. I also met Mike Metzger ...aka, The Godfather of freestyle motocross!!! He is also a tattoo artist--and son Sam was totally impressed with this encounter!! My only regret is that my bike wasn't near so I could show it off---need to work on those credentials for next year!!! Once the engines started at the front of the procession--it took at least an hour for me to actually start my bike and move inch by inch down the parade route---lots of waving, peace signs, and thumbs up as we passed the crowds--and once we hit the Interstate 210--every overpass had cheering crowds as well. It only took an hour to ride to Pomona Fairgrounds and I cruised the show and saw all my vendor buddies--they said it finally was busy that day only--bummer since they had been there since Thursday. I hung out with Tory and Russell Mitchell at Exile Cycles---love those guys! It was too hot to check out the concerts--but I could hear them--Foo Fighters and ZZ Top performed. My ride back to Newport Beach was easy--carpool lane again--and got even more thumbs up and waves from fellow travellers.

Monday---Wolf, Kiki and I headed south to San Diego and we girls stopped off in Encinitas to see my dear divas at Hansen's--funny enough--they were having a Bogner clinic!!! They made time to come see the Diva Glide and take some pics--and lots of hugs--I miss that gang!We stayed in La Jolla at Claudia and Bill's "barn" on their estate in Pottery Canyon--peaceful and cozy!

Tuesday we were off for Arizona the scenic way. We stopped in Julian for lunch and killer apple pie--wonderful twisty windy roads--then to Salton Sea and through the Joshua Tree National Park north of I 10 ---I had never seen this park in all the years driving back an forth--it is a fabulous road in great condition and perfect for nice turns on the bike. We went through Twenty Nine Palms and back on to HWY 60 again through Wickenberg to Carefree Hwy--all in all a total of 12 hours to get home--with lots of stops! I loved every minute of the travels with the Wolf and his Queen. I am ready to go again!!

This week I am off with the boys from Aspen to explore the south eastern part of Arizona--staying in Bisbee for a few nights!!

Viva la Diva!!!

Photos:

Hansen's Divas

Fiereks and Kaelins

Russell Mitchell

Peter Fonda

Nancy and Willi G Davidson

Links:

http://www.exilecycles.com/

http://www.metzgerbrand.com/

http://www.loveride.org/

http://www.stefankaelin.com/

http://www.hansensurf.com/

Daytona Biketoberfest

I travelled to Daytona Beach for Biketoberfest last week--I fly--- and ship all my Diva Goods--wish I had my bike there--but it's just too damn far to ride...perhaps someday I will do it!!!

I set up in my usual spot at Arlen Ness store at Destination Daytona right off I95. The great news is that I have been doing these events for enough years that at least 75% of my customers were returning Divas!! It is always great to see everyone --some I get to see twice a year with Bike Week in March! My little Diva Store looked great--Shelly always gives me a great spot in her store. I also get to stay at her and Deano's Daytona Shores condo--right on the beach (as if there is time to enjoy it!) We hit a fundraiser Carrie Rapp organized at the Dog House on Main St. in Daytona for the troops--you will see some of the lovely Divas who entertained the crowd! Dave Perewitz, Christian (Sucker Punch Sally's), Billy Lane, and more were there to contribute for the cause!

Second night there I went to keep Tiffany company as she finished up her shoulder tattoo with Jeff over at Shamrock. I just love hanging out there--and of course he and I designed a new piece of art for me. It turned out fabulous--neon pink leopard rose with a "Dia de la Diva" skull --complete with lime green , orange, turquoise colors--it is on the top of my foot--and he used a tiny little needle. I told dear Jeff that it hurt worse than labor pains--but it was all worth it!!!

Vinnie and Cody from V-Force along with dad, Mr. D were right across from the store--and it was so fun to see them again. Michele Smith had her new hauler parked on the J&P lot--selling her Tribal Cowboy apparel and Team Diva hats! Ami from Miami Ink came up for the day as he is designing bikes with Christian at Sucker Punch Sally's--we had a fun little photo shoot--trying to get him to smile--(a grin is the best I got out of him!)

I always love spending time with my Daytona family--and especially being with Shelly---it was fate the day we met in ASPEN at her dad's Harley Store years ago--I went from a person who loved wearing HD gear to owning 2 of them and riding all I can----and getting in motorcycle biz----mucho thanks to my dear Shelly!!

Tomorrow I hit the road to Southern California with Wolfgang so we can ride in the LOVE RIDE--maybe I will run into Jay Leno---stay tuned!!!

"We're never gonna survive...unless we get a little crazy" SEAL

Viva la Diva

Diva links:

http://www.brucerossmeyer.com/ Destination Daytona

Shamrock Tatto shop 386-677-7670 Jeff (behind Corbin on Hwy 1A)

Diva photos:

1. In the mountains you never know what will hit--and it was chilly as well. I said good bye to all the fall colors and knew I would be in the heat of Las Vegas soon on my way to Arizona. I needed to get back to my warehouse in Carefree, AZ. to pack up my merchandise for Daytona Biketoberfest. I decided to stop in Las Vegas on the way! I lucked out and didn't hit any rain---stayed on the interstate 15 the whole way. The sun was already down when I rode into St. George --didn't want to ride Virgin River Canyon south of there in the dark. Up early the next morning--and it was raining. I suited up --looking so attractive and especially slim with all the layers--but at least I was pretty dry. I will take rain and chill vs. hotter than hell like it was last trip in August! I had a funny moment--here I was in the curves of the Virgin River Canyon, in the rain--"She Bangs" by Ricky Martin plays on my shuffle--had to laugh to myself!!! Guess you haven't lived till you have experienced moments like this!!!

I rolled in to LV--went straight to Krista's house so I could wash off the bike--now it is bright sun and warm. I have to have a sparkling bike to go to Hard Rock! I talked son Sam into riding over from Phoenix and we were meeting there for lunch. He got caught in some funky cold weather--hard on the poor kid as his Road King has big 'ol apes with no windshield! He is not as lucky as his Diva Mom who has the Klockwerks windshield and a face shield on my big helmet! After a wonderful lunch at 24/7 and enough hugs from all the Valet and Bellmen hunks there--we rolled down the strip to Cashman's Center to check out Vegas Bike Fest. Parking lot was full-- I was happy for my vendor friends--but they charged $15 per head to get in to shop-- I am wondering how that went over with everyone??? Seemed like a good crowd--and the question was ---were they buying???? Frank at Nino 925 seemed busy and I spent time with Kevin at Paul Yaffe Originals--they were selling and talking a lot!! I also saw my buddy El Pitts who had a fabulous chopper on display that he built--very sparkley paint--I think he did it in my honor!! In the parking lot , the Diva Glide was getting lots of attention---it's a perfect bike for the LV crowd! Sam and I made it back to Krista's to chill--we had a great dinner in north LV on Rancho Dr. at the Charcoal Room, inside the Santa Fe Station Casino--it was a quiet, relaxing dining experience---good for us after sensory overload!

Next morning, Sam and I left around 11am and hit the Hoover Dam at peak traffic. It was a giant balancing act for me as I had way too heavy of luggage ( all my silver jewelry?) and traffic was backed up way before the check point. It was a crystal clear day--so lots wanted to see the dam--we took some dam pictures!! The rest of the ride was nice--(at least I didn't get another ticket!) I love that Diva and Son were riding together--fun to look over and see him with me! WE met Grandy Zildjian in Wickenberg at Anita's Cocina for an early Mexican dinner--and headed home to Carefree. I love the silhouettes of the saguaros in the desert--and I could even smell some pinon firewood burning--Diva is back in the desert!

I head to Daytona Oct. 14--hope you see you at Biketoberfest --I will be in my usual spot at Arlen Ness store at Destination Daytona! I will have some new and wonderful Diva delights!!! Come see me!

Viva la Diva

Photos:

Raining in Virgin River Canyon

HRH Guys

Kevin Bailey of Paul Yaffe Originals

El Pitts and chopper

Diva and Son at the Hoover Dam

Diva Links:

http://www.lasvegasbikefest.com/

http://www.hardrockhotel.com/

http://www.vegasview.com/ for Santa Fe Station and the Charcoal Room

Park City HD Best Buddies Event

Last Sunday I attended the Fall Ride sponsored by Intermountain Harley Davidson. It was a ride from the Salt Lake City dealership to Park City Wasatch Brew Pub parking lot on upper main here in Park City. They had a great turnout and yummy bar-b-q in the lot--weather cooperated--it was a gorgeous fall day with lots of colors. I got to meet Joe Timmons and his wife--the owner of Salt Lake HD, Park City HD, and South Valley HD shops. What a great couple--and they had a raffle with all kinds of great HD goodies to give. The event benefited the Best Buddies program here in Utah--and lots of the kids from the program got to take a ride on a Harley--talk about HUGE grins!!! They really liked the Diva Glide--and as you can see--we took a group shot with some of the Team Members! I also met Justin Hask the director of the program---looks like he has done a great job with this program and its members!!

This week I will be shipping my goods from here in Park City to Daytona Beach to get ready for the rally Oct. 16. It was a picture perfect day....leaves were starting to turn and a little crisp in the air! These festivities last for 5 weeks to celebrate Octoberfest---and what a great setting to drink beer!! They had a huge tent set up at the base of the ski area--complete with all the Bavarian flags and lots of little tents with vendors selling everything from Bavarian pretzels to fabulous different flavors of brew. On stage in the tent an Oomp pa pa Band and lots of chicken dancing for our entertainment. We had a Bavarian lunch of weiss wurst and German potato salad along with spatzle. No meal from Germany would be complete without some apple strudel--we all shared a piece.....it wasn't as good as Bonnie's on Aspen mountain--but we had no problem eating every last crumb! I kept thinking of Klaus Obermeyer and Wolfgang and Kiki Fierek---they will be celebrating this holiday in TRUE German style!!

The ride back was gorgeous---made me wish we were going further than home to Park City--I am ready for a long one!!!!!

Check out my new cowboy hat designs--an airbrushed cross lined with Swarovski crystals--available in black with silver and cream with pink or silver.

Go to my web site for more details--under products, airbrushed.

Love needing a jacket and chaps to chase the chill !!!! Fall is upon us here in the mountains!

VIVA la DIVA!!!

Diva Links:

http://www.snowbird.com/

http://www.teamdiva.com/

Diva visits Klockwerks Team at Bonneville Salt Flats

Last Saturday we made the trek to the Bonneville Salt Flats west of Salt Lake City, UT. Some of you may have seen "The Fastest Indian" starring Anthony Hopkins--a true story about Burt Munro from New Zealand and his adventures travelling to the Salt Flats and racing his Indian motorcycle on the flats. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it!

We drove right on the flats--and eerie feeling --could have been on white white sand or snow--kept reminding my self it was salt! Felt like Ice Road Truckers!

Laura and Brian Klock and team and crew were all set up for the week to kick some ass and set some land speed records. The team had 4 entrants--all women! Laura, and her 2 daughters (Erika and Kaylee) and Big Joe's wife , Michelle. I had gotten to know this gang while staying with them during Sturgis--so it was fun to see them in action on the flats. They had raced all week and this was the last day--after racing , the crew has to break down the motors on the bikes so the officials can measure each piece of the motor to make sure it is the class engine they were entered. Laura broke the record (which was hers from last year) by clocking 153.906 mph on her Road Glide Bagger! They have also set a record for being the only "Mother /Daughters" team on the salt. All four women set records--make sure to check out their web site to read more about the week.

We also ran into Jay Allen--the owner of the Broken Spoke Saloons and Campgrounds--he was also racing for the week.

Some of the contraptions that were custom built were pretty amusing to see ---and some really vintage motorcycles. There was also a solar powered motorcycle--tons of sun out there for that one!!

I am so proud of the Team Klockwerk Racing Divas--I told them I need to put crystals on their bikes so they will go even faster!

Fall is on it's way--leaves are turning up here in the mountains--stay tuned as we hit Octoberfest at Snowbird!!

Viva las Divas!!

Diva links:

http://www.speedtrialsbybub.com/

http://www.kustombaggers.com/

http://www.brokenspokesaloon.com/

http://www.ehayes.co.nz/burtmunro/

Viva la Diva rides to Viva Las Vegas

Last Friday I blasted south on I15 to Las Vegas, NV from Park City, UT. The ride was fairly pleasant for interstate riding---until I got to southern Utah in the afternoon. I got off the freeway to cool off and visit with the gang at the Zion, UT Harley Davidson dealership and do a little shopping...although it's hard to look like a Diva when you are road weary with heat!! Back in the saddle and talk about heat--it was a blasting inferno at 85mph for a few more hours till I hit the outer edges of Las Vegas--and then it got even hotter along with traffic. I couldn't get to my home away from home fast enough...that would be Hard Rock Hotel. The boys there helped me unload the bags off the bike --and they are so glad these days I AM on the bike--- so my luggage and crap I bring are limited...fitting on one cart vs. the three I used to fill up when I drove! I love those guys (valet and bellman)and Diva Kym.

It was a nice gathering there with my kids, as Adrienne flew from Salt Lake City UT, and Sammy (with friend Zoe) drove from Phoenix. They came to help Diva mom get ready or the trunk show in the retail store for Saturday and Sunday. Sammy had to detail, drain the fluids, and push the bike into the store at Hard Rock. We placed it front and center for maximum attention---goal achieved ---all day and all night--while we all sold Swarovski crystalled do rags and REHAB cowboy hats. You haven't lived until you work a couple of days on the floor of this retail store--never a dull moment! What a great crowd--all there for the love of drink and fun! There were plenty of fellow biker friends shopping-- loved meeting and chatting with them. I ran into an old friend I have known from biker and rodeo days , Donnie aka Hollywood Yates aka The Wolf on American Gladiators---I was so glad to catch up with him!

Saturday night we were treated to a pool party of our own at Krista's (my dear friend and the buyer/manager of all retail at HRH) fabulous home --she lives in a mid-century abode in the oldest neighborhood in Las Vegas--lots of character. ...to match her! We dined on her home cooked fare alfresco listening to SEAL after many dips in her pool--what a night!

The next 3 days I shopped the MAGIC, POOL, and PROJECT trade shows. I decided to not have my own booth --so I am able to really check out all the shows and shop for goods to buy for my rallies along with my own gear. Showing at these shows these days is very pricey, and I am still trying to figure out my niche for which show I should be in--so for now ---I try to cover it all. Along the way...I see tons of friends who are the retailers shopping as well as all my pals who are showing. As you can see on this blog or my web site photo gallery --I have some "celebrity" shots... Kimbo Slice ---a "famous" and really handsome(???) fighter sponsored by Tap Out, and Paul Wall--a rapper with a diamond grill, and also Ami and Chris from Miami Ink. I also was able to attend a fashion show at Cary Hart's new club, Wasted Space. Silver Star was the fashion show sponsor, it was great to see Charis and Luke with their posse including the Ying Yang Twins.

As you might notice--not a lot of time for eating--but we did manage to hit the "gas station sushi" place across Harmon from HRH in the strip mall--it was terrific and I am not exaggerating when I say only Japanese spoken there--busy with all the Japanese attending all the trade shows--so we knew we were in the right place for the best sushi! We also hit 24/7 Lucky's for plenty of meals--made better by meeting the head chef, Natalie, (she liked my bike, and I like her food!)

Six nights in Las Vegas, NV takes its toll--but I rallied and hit the road to head home all in one shot. I was energized the minute I got off I15 at Cedar City, UT on Hwy 14. I love those mountains and all the curvy roads. I passed the jewel blue Navajo Lake and coral colored Cedar Breaks, and hooked into Hwy 89 north. It was a long day--but I made it--needing a warm layer once I hit Provo.

The Diva Glide served me well another trip, and once again I was glad to be back in my own bed...to recover!!!

More great shots on my web site----go there!

Viva and Viva Divas and Las Vegas

Diva Photos

1. I have gotten to know these guys through the years and they are always full of creativity with their product and their lives. I love how they each have their own signature style and seem to genuinely enjoy times like this when they get to give each other that hug, pat on the back, and some big teasing. Egos?? what egos!!!

Diva photos:

1.Builder group shot

2. Sturgis, South Dakota is the Mecca for all motorcyclists and I suggest for all who are curious to attend at least once in a lifetime. Some want more and attend every year. I didn't have a formal booth, but my hats were with Hawg Tyd under Paula's watchful eye out at Black Hills Harley Davidson. I also donated hats and beater T-shirts for the Breast Cancer Ladies Day at TOP 50.

My ride over took 2 days--it's approx. 700 miles--stopped in Lander, Wyo. first day lunch, Gannet Grill-- on Hwy 28 and 789. Wolfgang would love this stop--it's on Main street--an old bar with hearty home made food. Stopped for the night in Thermopolis, Wyo. This place is famous for having the largest hot springs in the world--love that sulphur smell! Checked in to the Holiday Inn --nice to park right in front of the room,--but the hotel is in sore need of a heavy duty remodel...it's a dump! Nicest place to eat was in our hotel--Safari Club--good news ---free coupons for wine at dinner---bad news...wine choices were chablis, rose, and burgundy!!

Second day ride was a lot nicer than first--went over Powder River Pass, past Big Horn Ski Area--Hwy 16--so chilly, I thought it would snow.I had to stop and layer up!! Down the hill into Buffalo and I90 heading east. I needed a tire for my rear and found Woody at his shop in Sundance, Wyo. He and his crew were great about getting me back on the road in less than an hour--Woody loved riding my Diva Glide through his neighborhood...takes a real man to do that! Got stopped by Wyoming Highway Patrol--going 82mph in a 75mph on the interstate. The officer loved my bike and just gave me a warning!! I was not so lucky a few days later and got a ticket for 47mph in at 35mph--in South Dakota--this officer liked the bike...but not enough to let me off!!!

First stop was in Spearfish, S. D. to visit with Paul Yaffe and Susie Q. at the Holiday Inn--then up to Hamster Hill. I signed the banner they had in Click's garage, shed more tears for him and all of us who miss him terribly. Afterwards, I ran into the Ness girls--lots of hugs and discussion of my latest "bling" creations. Off to find my place to sleep for the visit in Sturgis. I was lucky enough to stay in the big house Laura and Brian Klock had rented for the event for their staff and strays. I am their "Diva" stray--and was happy to have a quiet place to rest my weary head...even if it was 1.5 miles on gravel--I didn't need to cocktail anyway!!

First night --found Shelly and staff out at Thunderdome and tagged along to the VIP viewing area for KID ROCK concert out at the famous Buffalo Chip campground. Thanks to Christian of Sucker Punch Sally's who had the party at the VIP area---we were able to see the Kid really well. He rocked for hours--he loves this gang--as they can rev their engines to show support and appreciation for him!

Next morning was the Bike Builder's Breakfast at the Broken Spoke in Sturgis. I saw all the boys and will write a separate blog about the event---it was a success and great to see them--and they got to see the Diva Glide--as I had a primo parking spot in front thanks to Jim Betlach, Darcy's dad--Darcy did a great job bringing all the guys together!

Time to cruise Main in Sturgis--what a feat--so crowded--got interviewed by local T.V. station--and the crowd liked the bling on the Diva Glide! I parked the bike at the Arlen Ness rig and went to visit my buddies--including Betty and Charlie over at Lindy Bars--and my 4 legged boyfriend, Sparkey. Couldn't quite get in to the fine cuisine on Main--fried pork chops and turkey legs--at least there was fresh squeezed lemonade! Took off to be with Shelly inside her rig (from Destination Daytona HD) and experienced a severe tornado warning...sirens and all. Thank goodness the hail didn't happen--lots of bikes outside-- I rode mine into the Thunderdome for protection--meanwhile, became a part of the Motorcycle as Art show by Michael Lichter. He did a great job--nice appetizers, great company , and beautiful photos and bikes to marvel. Storm cleared and we were able to ride home after all.

Next morning I visited everyone at Black Hills Harley Davidson. My hats were on display with Paula, saw Mark at Big Ear, and met Cody and Vinnie from V-Force--they used to be with Orange County Choppers. Vinnie's dad (Mr.D) is their sales manager-- we had a nice visit. Best part of a very full day was my 1.5 hour massage in Rapid City--the only way this Diva gets through it all. I had a great respite from the heat and noise at Blue Sky Day Spa right on Mt. Rushmore highway. Took off from there to visit Mt. Rushmore--it is a phenomenal achievement--and I even met Nick Clifford who actually worked on the monument---he was in the gift shop at the memorial signing his book..he is 87 years young!! Hopped on the highway to ride the loop to Deadwood--it is a beautiful ride--woodsy and winding though the hills. Visited with Bandanna Linda at the KOA campground and had a nice dinner with brother Will from Aspen. Deadwood has such charm and tons of history--Calamity Jane and Buffalo Bill lived and died there.

Thursday was ladies day at Top 50 --rode in a breast cancer ride and met some incredible women. My son Sam will be excited to know I hung out with darling Jessie Combs who has had her own Extreme 4x4 show on TV--she actually designs and builds 4 wheel and 2 wheel designs. Laura Klock ( woman speed record on a bagger) led us on a lovely ride through the hills. Tyna Bower organized a nice auction, awards, and fashion show. I was flattered to be a part of it all. Save the boobs!!

Early to rise and headed out for Park City around 7am --I rode back the same route I rode there. It was great weather for the first half of the day--then rainstorms for the afternoon. I set an all time record for myself and rode 740 miles all in one shot. It was definitely the lure of sleeping in my own bed that kept me goin'.

I loved this trip--experiencing all I could in just a few short days. I will remember the smell of sulphur, fresh cut morning hay, pine trees on the mountain passes, and pungent sagebrush after the rains. My motorcycle family has grown with new acquaintances--and it was wonderful to see those I love and know already!

Diva's Links

http://www.landerbar.com/ great lunch stop in Lander , Wyo.

Woody's Repair 307-283-2269 Sundance, Wyo. near border of S.D.

http://www.suckerpunchsallys.com/ cool bikes

http://www.blueskysalonandspa.com/ a must for Divas

http://www.lichterphoto.com/ Micheal Lichter motorcycle photographer

http://top50rallypark.com/ cool place to visit ecit#46 off I90 towards Rapid City

http://www.kustombaggers.com/ Laura and Brian Klock's company

http://www.jessiecombs.com/ metal fabricator and one hot chick!

Diva's photos

1. We got to stay in their brand new "barn" on the estate where Bill grew up---Pottery Canyon in La Jolla. We frequented La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club--where we were treated like royalty--their member number is 5! It is a private beach club that also has a hotel for outside guests. There are many great things about this club--but the best part are the killer Mai Tais they serve at the bar --you only need one to set you free---especially nice for walking the beach at sunset. We even had our own b-b-q right there one lovely, gorgeous evening. Another night we went to the best "Locals" pizza joint--Carino's By the Sea. We had pizzas and fabulous antipasto salad--you can window shop for your Bugatti right next door! Another night we got spicy Mexican fare at famous Porkeyland--the best taquitos and carne asade --perfect for a mellow evening back at the barn. We also had breakfast at another La Jolla landmark called Harry's Coffee Shop. They serve everything from quiche to homemade hash--quite the busy place any morning!!

After a great visit in La Jolla--Claudia drove us to Solona Beach--made a little more hectic as the Del Mar horse races were in full swing. My dear pal, Julie King, who is the main buyer at Hansen's Surf and Sport picked us up in Solona Beach and drove us to San Clemente to my other dear pal , Patti Fisher's house in San Clemente. My other Diva Yaya Sisters joined us to "toast" Diva Teri Lyn's new darling store, Angelic, located in The District - Tustin. Great merchandise --apparel and accessories for women of all ages--we shopped and drank champagne to celebrate her store. Off to Bluewater Grill for dinner---fabulous pasta and fish and lots of wine---and of course yummy desserts.

A highlight of the trip was experiencing SEAL--his concert was at Pacific Amphitheater--had incredible seats---Aunt Susie went as well--and I actually was close enough to him--that he held my hand, looked into my eyes, and sang to me. For those of you who don't know--I am a SEAL stalker--I have seen him no less than 6 times--I love him! He found me because Heidi was in Germany filming-----haha!

I finished the trip off with an Amtrack ride to LA to meet with some of my suppliers and get some buying done--couldn't get out of there fast enough--too hot and sticky for the Diva. I must say the train takes the hassle out of the travelling.

Aunt Susie fixed her famous fish tacos for us and Daven--who lives downstairs from her--came as well. He is the head of all art direction at Volcum--and we love his body art. Famous tattoo artist,Kat von D, did the hula girl on his side.

It was a whirlwind trip, and we were so glad to get back to the clean, dry , cool air up on our mountain in Park City.

Diva Links:

http://www.ljbtc.com/ La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club

http://yelp.com/biz/porkeyland-restaurants-la-jolla

http://www.harryscoffeeshop.com/

http://www.hansensurf.com/

http://www.yelp.com/biz/angelic-tustin check this out for Angelic

http://katvond.net/ Famous tattoo artist

Addresses:

Carino's By the Sea

7408 La Jolla Blvd.

La Jolla, Ca. 92037

619-459-1400

Photos:

1. He and his buddies were riding through Montana on their way to Sturgis and he had a fatal accident on his bike 2 days ago. He is survived by his wife, Diane, and daughter, Chelsea and an enormous amount of friends.

I met Click many years ago in Daytona--he had a Harley Davidson shaped heart and it was big enough to give love and happiness to all who knew him. He was such a colorful guy and loved to tell great stories about his experiences, travels, and his pride and joy--his family. He owned one of the best Harley Davidson dealerships, hung with Kyle Petty and the NASCAR gang, and always had time for a bear hug and a laugh----he was such a fun loving and humble guy who took care of everyone around him.

Click was a mans man and such a gentle man--if you ran into Click--you knew you were in for a good time--no matter how short or long your visit would be. You would also be guaranteed lots of laughs, hugs, and maybe a sip of the Crown.

He called me "The DIV" and I can tell you this--God broke the mold when he made this kind, sweet man. He has left a giant hole in my heart--and all of us will miss him every day. I can hear his voice--and it is with me.

If you Google Click Baldwin you can read about his life and many accomplishments and how he gave himself to many wonderful charities...

I feel blessed and so lucky to have known him.

Thoughts and love to Diane and Chelsea.

Article on Click ( R.I.P )
http://www.gastongazette.com

Amy Skaling

Big Salty Customs Grand Opening

Saturday I rode the Diva Glide down to the opening of a new custom motorcycle shop...Big Salty Customs on 1594 S. State St. in Salt Lake City. Aaron and Christine are creating a laid back and comfortable shop --selling everything from Team Diva hats and beaters to custom bikes! They have big plans ahead and lots of rides scheduled to benefit various groups. We found each other because of my Salt Lake riding buddies--crazy Joel and Candace, the Mule, and BOB are all friends of Aaron's. We even took a little ride--Joel on Gangsta-one of the bikes he bought from Billy Lane, Bob rode Candace's "Guapo" and Candace rode her Kicker. This cute Kicker is a 150 cc, no clutch, electric or kick start, gets 100 miles per tank, retails for approx. $1500 and great to ride on surface streets!!! If you'd like more info--email Candace me@gasolinekouture.com

I spent the weekend creating some new hats --using the fidel silhouette--embellishing with crystal broaches to buddhas--they turned out pretty cute--check them out on my web site under limited editions--I can make some for you! I found all these great wine corks in many drawers here and got inspired. I came up with the D-Wino cowboy hat. You can see the photo how cute this turned out--it's my funny attempt at being "eco" and "green"--if you have any special corks you would like me to style into a cool hatband--send them to me( I need at least 6)--then email me to discuss the other design details!! I do have a collection of corks if that works better for you--and any of you who would like to contribute--save them --- I would love to have them. I could even make a white trash wino hat with the Charles Shaw corks!!

Friday night was a fun Park City old town evening for us. We girls started off with pedicures, happy hour at a restaurant called Jean Louis--he is a character-his white chef coats have leopard print collars and cuffs--his food is amazing---we had cocktails and steak tartar he fixed table side just for us! Auntie Zildjian was quite impressed! Next--a short walk to Butcher's Chop House--meeting friends on the patio---fabulous setting --the Town Lift moves overhead---bright pinks and purple flowers amongst all the green of the slopeside. We were a party of 10 to celebrate Uncle John's b-day--sampled one of each of the appetizers--and the Lavender Creme Brulee was to die for!!! It was a "warm" mountain evening with friends and family and lots of wine!!!!

Adrienne and I are off to San Diego this Wed.--I have lots to accomplish there, OC, and LA. SEAL at Irvine Amphitheater this Sunday--!Stay tuned!

Photo #1 Big Salty Gang
Photo #2 Candace's Kicker with Stud on top
Photo #3 Fidel Peace broach
Photo #4 Fidel Cross broach
Photo #5 Top view of Wino

Diva links:
http://www.teamdiva.com/
http://www.bigsaltycustoms.com/
http://www.jeanlouisrestaurant.com/
http://www.butcherschophouse.com/

Viva la Diva
Summer is going WAY too fast!!

A's Birthday Trip Park City to Aspen

Thursday, July 10--the 3 of us--Adrienne, Tim, and I hit the road via our favorite Wolf Creek Pass to Hwy 40--ending up in Steamboat Springs for the night on our first leg of A's b-day trip to Aspen. She wanted to have her b-day dinner at our very very favorite restaurant in Aspen..., D19! Tim rented an Ultra Classic Harley from Eaglerider in SLC so she could be more comfortable--backrest, armrest, and her own volume control for the tunes! We stayed in Steamboat right in town on Hwy 40/Lincoln Ave. at the charming Hotel Bristol. 24 rooms in one of the historical buildings in town with western/ranchy decor. Will and Roy rode their bikes over from Aspen (in record time of course!) We had a nice dinner at the Yacht Club right in town on the Yampa River. Next morning we walked to the famous "Winona's Restaurant" on Lincoln Ave.---don't miss this place--especially if you love your giant cinnamon buns--or homemade corned beef hash! This day --July 11, is Will's b-day--so he got a candle in his bun!!!

We headed south on Hwy 131--all of us on the bikes from Steamboat to Wolcott on I70. We had a nice b-day lunch at Wolcott Yacht Club on their patio--they are very famous for everything from fish tacos to their burgers. Mounted up and said good bye to the boys--(they wanted to go the "fast way "---we wanted picturesque!) We headed a few miles east on I70--then turned south on Hwy 24 through cute town of Minturn--over the glorious Tennessee Pass--part of the Continental Divide at 10,424 feet. After some great photos--(check my gallery), we rode through Leadville and turned off on Hwy 82--a road I have travelled since my childhood. My goal years ago was to ride on my own bike over Independence Pass (elevation 12,093 ft. and another stop on the Continental Divide) --and now I can say I have ridden it 4 times--on my 2 different bikes!! Made lots of friends on the top of the pass--more photos and chatting with a great family from Palm Beach--Diva Darcy, Neil, their darling daughter and her friend--we are now invited to stay with them there!!! The ride down the pass makes you fell like you are in the movie set for Sound of Music--all the wildflowers are blooming, snow on the peaks, shimmery Aspen trees, and the old miners shacks--makes you think what it had to be like back in the day of those silver miners who travelled here! At the end of this rainbow is the even MORE shimmery town of Aspen. I have travelled here since I was in elementary school, even learned to ski here--so I have a fond place in my heart for this little "mining" town. We rolled into one of my favorite places to stay--THE GANT--a deluxe unit, flowers waiting, and Zach the bellman helped me wash the bike!!!

Now of course --travel to Aspen would not be complete without experiencing great food. We ate the first night at my super friend Tommy's new place called "Social." It is right next door to his other fab restaurant, Elevation. We sat on the patio that is 2 stories up and a view extraordinaire from Independence Pass to Aspen Mountain. The concept we loved was the "social cuisine" ordering small dishes to sample different fair--eating family style --but much more contemporary. We ordered 6 different dishes--for the 3 of us---and finished off with chocolate fondue and handmade ice cream sandwiches--under the twinkling stars--with great music and a lively crowd. The evening was complete with a chilly walk home window shopping--the most affordable type of shopping in this little designer town!!

Next morning, A's b-day--we shopped the Saturday Farmer's Market--featuring all Colorado made, produced, and grown goodies--everything from sheep milk soaps, darling kids clothes, and locally grown cherries and peaches! Talk about lucky--to be in Aspen on your birthday and Dad with his credit card for shopping !!!

Now--on to the reason we came here--to see Dena, Marcus, and their new baby Cash at their famous restaurant---D19. We not only ate lunch there--but also dinner . Dena is an award winning chef, rubbing elbows with the likes of Emeril, Mario, and Tyler--she creates incredible Italian dishes--and of course we tried as many as we could in our 2 meals in one day we had there! Make sure to call ahead for reservations--it is so popular! A's Aspen Daddy Ron and his family joined us for dinner and b-day singing! After dinner I dropped in to see my favorite, award winning bartender--Jordan at Eric's--we have known each other since the Tippler days---yikes----loved those Disco Tuesdays...an era gone by!

A beautiful Sunday morning to hit the road home, and a nice surprise--dear friend Andy Mill stopped to see us before we left--haven't seen him in years--and the years have been so kind to him--looking good!!! Time to hit the road--- travelled HWY 82 to Glenwood Springs--I70 west to Rifle--north on Hwy 13 to Meeker--then west on Hwy 64 through Rangely, Dinosaur, and Duchesne. A cool ride over Wolf Creek Pass and back into Park City.Another fabulous trip and luck was on our side!!The bikes ran great, ate great food, and visited with old friends and made new ones on the road--love it--ready to roll anytime!!!

Diva's links:

http://www.eaglerider.com/ Harley Rentals

http://steamboathotelbristol.com/ lodging in Steamboat Springs

http://wolcottyachtclub.com/index.htm lunch in Wolcott

http://gantaspen.com/ lodging in Aspen

http://social-aspen.com/ new, hot restaurant in Aspen--tell Tommy Diva Amy sent you!

http://www.d19aspen.com D19 Dena in Aspen

Photo #1 Diva Amy taken by Will in motion on the Hwy

Photo #2 Lunch at Wolcott Yacht Club

Photo #3 Palm Beach Darcy's Divas top of Independence Pass

Photo #4 Chef Dena, partner/husband Marcus, Studly Cash

Photo #5 Lovin' Our Andy

Check out my gallery for more photos

http://www.teamdiva.com/

See ya next week!

Viva la Diva

Ride Safely

Happy July 4 in Park City, Utah

Celebrations for the 4th of July here in Park City are abundant--always a matter of choosing which activities to join in--there are so many!!July 3 we chose to hit Willow Creek Park to watch the fireworks at Canyons Mountain Resort. We had a big group with lots of toddlers--I love to see them watch the fireworks!! My aunt, Andy Zildjian drove in from Scottsdale by way of Durango and Moab to celebrate with us. Sammy flew up from Phoenix late this evening, and so did Krista Tye--my dear friend who is the cheif operations and buyer for all retail at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas! Krista's friend, Elizabeth also flew in that night--both girls were in desperate need of a mountain, nature, and cool air fix--to de-stress!

July 4 we hit Park Ave in Park City to see the parade--we saw the tail end as we were too busy talking and relaxing to head off our mountain in time! I rode my FATBOY into town and as you can see--people love to photograph that bike! My buddy on the bike is Mr. Cooper--age 3 who already knows how to turn on the ignition and honk the horn--I will be taking him for a ride as soon as his parents will let him! The other photo is with Cooper and "Motorcycle Sam. "We finished off the day with a party at our place--ribs , local corn, more tasty dishes, and lots of great friends. The grand finale-- Tracy's homemade peach and apple pies.
July 5, Krista and I actually worked sitting up on our deck with our inspiring view and came up with some great things for me to create for the main store at Hard Rock. I have been selling cowboy hats to her at that store since they opened years ago. A fun and new category will be the Do Rags embellished with Swarovski crystals--they will be in the main store as well as Pink Taco! Ride ON!!!!!We finished this day off with a sunset boat cruise at Deer Creek Reservoir, south of Heber City with a view of Mt. Timpenegos--Sammy and Tracy braved the water to wake board!
July 6 we shopped town and hit the Park City Silly Market. This is a fun event with vendors set up on lower Main in Park City. Vendors are selling everything from giant adult teeter totters to lobster rolls from Maine!! Music everywhere, tasting goodies, and lots of clever items to buy for home and apparel. It is every Sunday till Oct. from 10am to 4pm. We also visited my friend, Karen Terzian's gallery. Krista and I couldn't resist new necklaces made by a new designer--L. Jonas---we liked a lot of her pieces--but the ones we bought---she had tied turquoise nuggets to create the "chain" --I bought a hammered PEACE symbol pendant and Krista bought a gorgeous sterling cross. This designer uses her vast collection of items from all over the world to create fabulous necklaces and bracelets--the gallery is on upper Main on the right side heading uphill. I rode the big bike in and parked on the corner from Mary Janes-- had lots of fun talking to the people who couldn't pass by the bike without comments and pictures!!!
We are just catching up from all the festivities and look forward to our next travels. This Thursday,we are heading to Aspen on the bikes by way of Steamboat Springs, Colorado for my daughter, Adrienne's #23 b-day July 12. Make sure to tune in next week for more adventures!!
Diva Tip: Everyone who knows me--knows I am a confirmed tequila drinker--but I have found a new drink I love this summer!!!Finlandia Grapefruit Fusion mixed with pink lemonade!!! Yummy!!

Diva Links:
http://parksillysundaymarket.com
http://terziangalleries.com

Ride Safe and Viva la Diva!

More Grand Juction trip photos

<img style="display:block; We left Park City through Francis on Hwy 32--- nice and cool over Wolf Creek Pass, Hwy 35 to Duchesne, Hwy 40 to hot (and I don't mean spicy!) Vernal!!We turned south at Dinosaur onto Hwy 64, then through Rangely on Hwy 134 to the mighty I70 into Grand Junction.

Next morning we experienced the Colorado National Monument trail--approx. 23 miles of the most breath taking "Rim Rock Drive." Sheer walled canyons and towering red sandstone spires made it hard to keep an eye on the road--all my years of travelling through Grand Junction--NEVER took the time to see this area--it is a MUST!! It is a National monument--must pay a fee to enter--entrances are south of I70 and west of Grand Junction or south of I70 and near town of Fruita. We exited near Fruita--then rode west on the intersate to the MACK exit for Country Jam. There is nothing at this exit except the big pasture where the Jam is set up. There were lots of food vendors and vendors selling things from personal misters to beer koozies shaped like barbells!!! I can tell you this--it had to be at least 110 degrees and there were hardly any trees to provide any shade!! I think the Diva would melt to death out there--so I am glad I checked it out before signing up!!

Back on I70 and off at Hwy 128 as we had decided to stay that night near MOAB. I found a wonderful resort/ranch called the Red Cliffs Lodge. It was hotter than a motha riding into the lodge--but the scenery took the edge off--plus we were along the Colorado River. This lodge is located on mile 14, 16 mi. from Moab, and has it all--tons of activities, pool, jacuzzi, restaurants, and even Castle Creek Winery!. We tasted all the wines, bought a bottle--bought sack lunch and collapsed in our air conditioned fabulous room! For us--- a nap, a dip in the refreshing pool, then off to dinner. We dined outside on the long deck with the red cliffs and Colorado River for a view--sun was setting and the red cliffs turned about 20 different shades of reds, oranges, and finally purples before dark. The staff there was awesome--loved our waitress, and ate like little piggies--all accompanied by great local wines!! Great fun checking out the Cowboy Museum downstairs in the main lodge--everything from the local history of the family who owns the ranch, to all the movies--tons of them from John Wayne, Thelma and Louise, and even Austin Powers--filmed there in the valley. Check out my web site for more of the photos--www.teamdiva.com.

We hit the road to MOAB the next morning, the ride in was again full of great scenes of shear rock along the Colorado River--the smell of bacon in the air with all the campers cooking breakfast.I could also smell the river water mixed with the cotton woods!. Met some gas pals --a gang riding from Ohio--on their baggers--were on their way to Las Vegas---mucho caliente for them!!! Breakfast for us was at the Jailhouse Cafe---an historical landmark for the food as well as the building.Ready for the ride home, we hit Hwy. 191 north past Arches National Park--(decided to do this one next trip!)-- travelled on I70 to Green River--turned off on 191, through the Ashley Nation Forest. It was a great road with hardly any traffic and my favorite--- wide open and curvy highway--to Duchesne--and back to Park City the same way we came. We even saw our first mama and baby moose for the summer season!

Thursday I rode with the staff and some of their customers from the Summit Honda Dealership-- Rachel and her crew were a blast to ride with down Parley's Canyon to Emigration Canyon. We went to 75 year old , very famous Ruth's Diner---a very busy night as they had some live music entertainment--and lots of yummy food being served!

Diva's food tips this week---Meatloaf and any desert at Ruth's Diner--especially my favorite carrot cake drizzled with caramel sauce!

Friday night I was at Mary Jane's--cutest store in Park City on lower Main in Old Town for a customer appreciation night. Managers Carla, Chelsea, and Missy put on a great evening complete with wine and sushi from local sushi bars. I made some special hats for the event, and they sold the D-Leather Cross early in the evening--this customer is ready for outdoor concert season here in Park City! I also made a special red cowboy with US crystalled stars--this customer is ready for July 4!! I also had my beaters, some fidels caps , and my new string helmet/backpack in great prints with bling of course. My buddy, designer Rebekah Abrams was also there with her in line collection as well as her new line called "Junk Jewelry." We also celebrated Mary Jane's remodel as the upstairs is now all redone and so darling with hot pink and red polka dots. All the footwear and more accessories are upstairs now! Make sure to check it all out--owner Lori Harris and staff have done a great job! Best surprise of all was seeing Maria and Randy Mc Ghie from Las Vegas! Randy was walking Main Street, saw my bike parked out front and had no question as to whose it was! I sold them Obermeyer for 29 years and they now have a premeir ski and custom pedal bicycle shop in Las Vegas--they can fit your body for the best custom bike design and are ranked in the top 15 in the country for bike sales!

Saturday night we partied at Cowboy Charlie's 13 Annual Pig Roast. This is a must attend event for those in the know for the social gatherings in Park City. Charlie's roasts a 200 pound pig---and we all bring side dishes and fun drinks--jello shots to Trash Can Sangria! Charlie hired 3 para gliders to jump from the sky and landed on a dime in his freshly manicured corral--it gave us all goosebumps!! The band played the best CW music and we all visited around the pig and the bonfires!! People camp in the fields and travel from all points to partake--looks like Yasgars farm from Woodstock! I got to see cute cowboy Kyle Moocher--one of my son's buddies from high school. He is playing at Webber State in Ogden--and kicking ass--he is so big--and solid...playing center!

It's time to gear up for July 4 celebrations--let me know if you need a special cowboy hat for any of your events--Diva can make it for you!!!

Important links this week:

http://www.summithonda.com/ Rachel Young /manager

http://www.ruthsdiner.com/article on Ruth's

http://www.maryjanesshoes.com/ Lori Harris

http://www.shoprjdesigns.com/ Rebekah Abrams jewelry designer

http://mcghies.com/index.cfm Maria and Randy McGhie owners

Until next week---Ride Safe and make sure to OVERDO!!!!

Flaming Gorge Camping Trip!

Last Friday we took off to Flaming Gorge--I rode the bike, Adrienne and Tim rode in the truck pulling the Diva Trailer. It was clear, but chilly--I needed the leathers. We travelled east from Park City on I80 to Rock Springs, Wyo. turned south on Hwy 191 to Mustang Ridge campground. The ride on 191 was out of sight on a bike--huge sweeping turns and great views of snow capped mountains to the south and when you finally see water--it was terrific! I love those winding roads--lots of turns!!! We were lucky to get into Mustang Ridge campground--it is actually in Utah. It is a heavily wooded area--you can barely see your camping neighbors--not to say you can't hear them and their loud cheap generators (must not have been Hondas!!) We had lots of friends there with babies--but they were a ways away--never heard any of them! Flaming Gorge is so unique in that there is a portion to the north west that will remind you of Lake Powell--dry and desert looking--then heading south--it is wooded with red cliffs--all on the same lake!! The water was too cold to get in--but one day we fished, and caught some 13 inchers-cute trout--and ate them for dinner--so tasty!! One day Tim and I rode around the Gorge over the dam and the only bridge (south) and had lunch at the Red Canyon lodge--if you are not into camping--this is the place to stay!
One night we had a mountain pie cook off--you use a square, cast iron "Camp Chef Cooking Iron" available on http://rei.com for only $15.00. This gang acted like we were on some cook off show on the Food Network!! You place buttered wonder type bread on each side of the iron along with ANY kind of filling ---canned pie filling to pizza fixins to eggs and potatoes--put the 2 sides together--slip into the campfire coals--and hopefully don't get distracted and burn!!! You will be well rewarded---the bread squishes and the insides are so yummy! Food tastes so good out in the wilds!!!
You can make reservations for the campsites there at Flaming Gorge-or they do have some first come first served---there are many different campgrounds, but we loved the Mustang Ridge--it even had a little sandy cove within walking distance for the kids and doggies!! The boat ramp was only 8 min. away! No hookups, but showers and latrines. We also checked out Cedar Springs--it's nice and close to it's own little marina and boat ramp. You mnay notice a little deer I saw in this campground--look closely...it's in the woods!!The camp hosts at these places are great people and keep tight and clean campsites. reservations: http://www.recreation.gov/ Tons of activities--especially when the water will warm up--but there were plenty of rafters out there even now!! We rode home the southern route Hwy 191 to Vernal, Utah--through Duchesne then over Wolf Creek pass where there was still a ton of snow at the summit. I could smell the melting snow along with the scent of pine--it brings back lots of memories--I was glad to experience it all on the bike--love those twisty mountain passes!!
Until next week--
Ride Safe and
Viva la Diva

Ride back to Park City

It took 2 days to ride back from Carefee, AZ. to Park City, Utah. I will be here for the summer to escape the heat of Arizona. The ride was glorious--everything from sahauro cactus to the pines in the mountains. Rode by Lake Powell and stayed in Kanab, Utah. We ate at our favorite cafe The Rocking V http://rockingvcafe.com/ Checked in with Rose and dined al fresco(dogs got to sit with us too!)--the best menu with lots of choices and yummy deserts. Make sure to try the cafe if you are heading through Kanab. The next morning, I rode up HWY 89 all the way to I70. I have to say--this ride rates at the top of my list of best rides I have ever done. Pink sands outside of Kanab--huge cliffs around the turn off to Bryce, and twisting through the mountains, with crystal blue skies. I took a picture of the bike while travelling the Provo canyon and as you can see--lots of snow on Mount Timpanogos above Sundance. It's great to be back and will set up my workshop this week to get going on hat orders!

San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon

I just got back from working with the Elite Racing group who puts on these marathons all over the counry. The latest one was in San Diego last weekend. There are pro entrants from all over the world and a lot of non-pro first timers. The finish line was on the Marine Corp Recuit Depot compound. I was lucky enough to meet the Brigadier General who is the commander of the whole base. A WOMAN!! I was lucky enought to help her shop in our official souvenier area, and even luckier to get a photo with her. After listening to her welcome speech on stage...I was ready to sign up and defend my country--she is a fabulous public speaker!! She travels with 2 body guards who keep a close watch on her at all times. Talk about pressure! I also got to meet Corporal Molly--the bulldog mascot for the base. She even had really cute Marine taking care of her and of course she was wearing her fatiques as well!! Seeing some of those contestants make it the whole way is so inspirational--

Memorial Weekend at Hideaway

I ran into Heather, one of my best customers, at The Hideaway in Cave Creek, AZ. Great to see all my returning customers and great to make new friends at all of the events. I even got to ride during Arizona Bike Week with the ladies from Gypsyriders for breast cancer--www.gypsyriders,org. I rode with Laura Klock who is quite famous in our world. She set a land speed record on her Road Glide bagger at Bonneville Salt Flats! I made her a hat and she made sure I had one of her company's fabuous windshields for my Road Glide--the shield is a special invention of hers and husband Brian's--it has hips and lips!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeDO5RK3HI/AAAAAAAAAFg/-M9kiV2HpSY/s320/Diva%2Band%2BEddie%2BTrotta.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203772186364140658" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeDiJRK3II/AAAAAAAAAFo/5eEeELgoTiM/s320/Arlen,%2BCory,%2BBruce.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203772517076622466" />

Shelly and I had a great time working our asses off during Bike Week. Jessie Rooke was in the house as well as Arlen and Cory Ness. As you can see , Russell Mitchell was there for the Biker Breakfast--so was Eddie Trotta. I love my Daytona family and all my wonderful customers who make a point to come see me. I also love my gang who make things work over at Destination Harley--those guys and gals really put in the hours--just glad they choose to spend their lunch minutes with the Diva shopping!! O yes..Diva got another tatoo with her tatoo man, Jeff!! Stay tuned for a photo of how it turned out!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeDv5RK3JI/AAAAAAAAAFw/1nHgyrG0aAo/s320/Bike%2BWeek%2BDaytona%2B2008%2B(18).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203772753299823762" />

I was set up at Hacienda Harley in Scottsdale , AZ. for their Kickstart Party. I was over in the custom store and boy ---what a crowd--gorgeous and ready to spend!!!-I had a great time with all these folks! Saturday I left son Sammy to man my area and I rode on the ride for the Coulter Foundation--made some great friends and got to see what the foundation through the years has accomplished--Julie and Rick Hatch are to be commended! I highly suggest putting this ride on your list for next season!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeGxpRK3KI/AAAAAAAAAF4/gonVDbAuuU8/s320/Laughlin%2B08%2B(14).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203776081899478178" />

Weather was great in Laughlin--we didn't roast to death there in the desert! I rode the Road Glide over and set up all in one day. We plowed through the merchandise--course it was priced to move! My new crystal bandanas were the hit of the party--thanks Linda for creating them!!! The crazy Germans made it over--my best riding buddies--Kiki and Wolfgang--they also helped me sell hats as you can see!!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeHNJRK3LI/AAAAAAAAAGA/WFjJGcQldEQ/s320/DSC01415.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203776554345880754" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeHNJRK3MI/AAAAAAAAAGI/qaROVvricVg/s320/DSC01420.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203776554345880770" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeHNZRK3NI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/2CwNnfvQvdw/s320/DSC01541.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203776558640848082" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_Vu9VfBC6dwg/SDeHNZRK3OI/AAAAAAAAAGY/5iRx45Ryvh8/s320/DSC01547.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203776558640848098" />
I am still in Arizona---rode to Las Vegas last week during a wind storm--and the bike performed like the champ it is--it is so stable--even in those conditions!
I had business with Hard Rock Hotel and I am excited to say we have lots going on with the retail store for the summer!
